Website market share
In the week where many sites had a revamp, a fresh look or new integrated features. I thought I would look at market share (hitwise assisted of course)
1. Google 6.41%
2. Yahoo Mail 4.75%
3. Yahoo 3.39%
4. MySpace 3.15%
5. Facebook 2.39%
6. eBay 1.62%
7. Windows Live Mail 1.48%
8. Yahoo search 1.46%
9. MSN 1.02%
10. Gmail 0.92%
11. YouTube 0.87
12. Google image search 0.54%
From my point of view, I would have expect Facebook to be higher than myspace, as the number of users is really high. This is definitely change later in the year.
I think the fact that email being high up in market share is for two reasons, emails are important and social networks email users when profiles, messages and new followers/friends add you.
Yahoo must be happy with both Yahoo mail (or Ymail depending on the user) and Yahoo being 2 and 3.
Google have number 1, 10, 11 and 12, this means their services are very good (pains me to say) and offer the best solutions for web users. I am sure Google’s Chrome browser will become very popular end of this year going into next.
eBay must be happy, with the ecomonic downturn, eBay still being so high shows that buying and selling goods are still important, finding deals and selling old bits and pieces is probably more important currently.

Hi,
I would have to agree with you, I would have thought facebook would have been higher then myspace.
Thanks.
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the comment, there are always differing views between Myspace and facebook, especially between the US and UK stats, facebook will carry on exploding if they leave the layout alone.
Cheers,
Danny
