Arsenal v Liverpool carling cup highlights 28/10/09
Watch Arsenal v Liverpool in Sports | View More Free Videos Online at Veoh.com
Highlights from last nights game between Arsenal and Liverpool. Both teams fielder younger starlets and returning stars from injury. Arsenal squeezed to a 2 1 win.
I think we can safely say Aaron Ramsey is definitely the one to watch over the next few years, 18 and ran the game, the Welsh playmaker confidence, precision passing and swagger around the pitch has all Arsenal and Welsh fans buzzing!

November brings a number of important Premier League games, includes massive games, London derbies and the Liverpool derby. Also includes Chelsea hosting Man Utd and European challenging Villa host Spurs.
First game of November is live on Sky, its newly promoted Birmingham City takes on the blue side of Manchester, Man City. The blues need every point they can in a push to stay up. Alex McLeish will look to get one over Mark Hughes (if he still there) McLeish who’s spending has been limited in the transfer window to date will come against the big spenders of British football. City will need to beat the smaller teams to crack the top 4.
Wolves take on Arsenal on ESPN on November 7th, Wolves will be pushing for a home win where every win is essential for their survival. Arsenal who needs to win every game against the newly promoted team to be in with a chance to challenge for the Premier League should walk this match.
Two promoted teams from two seasons ago go head to head, Hull City and Stoke, both teams did well to stay up last season, wonder if they can manage it this? For me neither have done enough in the transfer window to help keep their survival chances alive.
Sunday the 8th see’s the big guns go to battle, Chelsea host champions Man Utd in what could be an outstanding game, Chelsea and new manager Ancolotti will face a Ronaldo-less Man U, who should be on a roll by November as they are prone to starting late. Man U will want to get three points against their rivals.
Liverpool then have two live games in a row, two home games with Manchester City and Birmingham City. Liverpool will fancy 6 points against the two City’s. Be interesting to see how Liverpool’s midfield will Alonso who in my opinion has been their best player for two seasons. Man City will need to at least draw away days againt top four clubs like Liverpool to have a chance in breaking into the top 4.
Man U host Everton live on ESPN on Saturday 21st November, Man U Everton clashes are usually good matches with Man Utd winning a hard fought battle. Everton who finished 5th will eye the top 4 places but might fall short with Spurs, Villa and Man City all pushing for champions league football.
Blackburn then face local rivals Bolton, lunch time kick offs often produce goals and this one should not disappoint, Bolton and Blackburn play very similar style of football and it will be who has the more direct style wins. Megson has slowly brought better players and will look to progress Bolton into the top half.
Villa and Spurs go up against each other at 5.15 on ESPN on the 28th of November. Villa will need to use Villa Park as a fortress this season and wins against their potential top 6 place rivals is essential. Spurs may play new signing and Villa old boy Peter Crouch, it will be interesting to see how Harry Redknapp keeps his front line happy – Robbie Keane, Jermaine Defore, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko all fighting for a starting place. Villa should have new boy Stuart Downing back in time to face his former suiters. Downing may be pushed into a central midfield position to fill the void left by departing former captain Gareth Barry. It maybe too early for new boy Fabian Delph to play but watch out for this kid who signed from Leeds early August.
At the end of the month comes two big derby’s, arguably the biggest derby in Premiership Liverpool take on Everton at Goodison Park. Everton who finished well in 5th last season will be looking to cement their place in the top 6 again and a home win against their closest rivals will help. Liverpool who usually squeeze derby wins against the blue half of Liverpool will look to keep their impressive record going.
Then comes the top two London clubs, Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates, Chelsea have had the roles reversed on them recently with Arsenal, late winners and equalisers have comes from the red side of London. Arsenal Chelsea are always great games apart from the losing team of course. This match could be won by the managers, Wenger and Ancolotti have had a number of European show downs, Wenger generally getting the better results.

October sees a number of huge games.
First live game see’s old Man U favourite captain Steve Bruce travel back to Old Trafford with new team Sunderland, Steve Bruce does not have the best record against Alex Ferguson’s team and will look to upset the current champions at home.
On Sunday October 4th Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal host Blackburn Rovers, Sam Allardyce has a history of upsetting Arsenal when he was managing at Bolton and will no doubt take the same principles to Ashburton Grove. Arsenal will need to beat teams like Blackburn to be title contenders.
Then comes a potential top 4 show, Chelsea V Liverpool, usually seen playing in the champions league, this game is always a tactical affair. Will new Italian coach be able to outsmart Rafa or will the Liverpool coach have too much experience in English football to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge?
The claret side in Birmingham then host the next two televised games in October, they play Man City then comes the threat of Chelsea, Villa did well against Chelsea last year and hope they can break up the midfield and allow wingers like Ashley Young and James Milner time to tourment the full backs. Be interesting to see how City fair against Villa as Villa finished alot higher and had a real home grown feel which Mark Hughes keeps spending on talent from abroad, a quick note, how will Gareth Barry do against his former club?
Blackburn then host bitter rivals Burnley, both teams need to start quick to avoid a relegation fight, will Sam Allardyce’s men be up for the fight as Owen Coyle will have his players all fired up. Suggests draw to me…
Following the derby, comes another Wolves face local rivals Villa, would be the first time in a hand full of years since the last derby and Villa will be keen to keep their rivals quiet. Wolves after being promoted will find it tough against a very experienced Villa side and unless they score early goals will really struggle.
Skip on a week and Liverpool host North West rivals Man U, after the war of words last season Fergie will be keen to avenge the battering they took from Liverpool towards the end of last season. Many tip both to fight it out until the end, but for me I think Liverpool old boy Michael Owen may come back and spoil the Red’s show.
West Ham host Arsenal 6 days before Arsenal take on Spurs. West Ham’s record against Arsenal especially at home is better than most think, will Zola be able to outfox Arsene? I can’t see it happening.
On the 31st, it has the North London derby, Tottenham take short journey to Arsenal for the lunch time kick off on Sky. Both teams have under achieved in recent years and will look to put one over on their local rivals. After that amazing 4 all draw where Spurs came back from the death and got that dramatic late equaliser Arsenal will be keen to beat their old rivals. Arsenal win is a must!
